The previous Lodge name, Hinode Goya, translated to Rising Sun in Japanese. It was felt this only represented a portion of the council and not the other countries at the time which included South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand. The new name, which supposedly means "A Gathering Of Nations" was more appropriate.
