PatchVault Update — July 2026
This release was mostly about making PatchVault faster and more dependable. Here's what you'll notice:
Faster everywhere. Lodge, council, camp, and section pages — plus the big issue galleries like First Flaps and Centennial Issues — now load noticeably faster, especially for repeat visits. Collection pages with hundreds of items got a major speed-up too.
Much faster image uploads. Adding patch images used to hang for 20+ seconds on large scans. Uploads now finish in about a second, with an instant preview — processing happens in the background while you keep working.
Smaller, faster images. Patch images are being converted to a modern format (WebP) that loads meaningfully faster on the catalog and issue pages, with no loss in the detail you need to identify a variation.
Better sharing. When you share a lodge or issue page on Facebook, X, or in a group chat, you'll now get a proper large patch-image card instead of a tiny generic one.
Nightly checklist PDFs fixed. A long-standing bug was quietly breaking checklist generation overnight — that's resolved, so checklists are reliable again.
A pile of bug fixes, including errors when renaming chapters, accepting an invitation with a mistyped password, certain admin issue entries, and the profile-setup reminder banner hiding behind the navigation.
This is in addition to some of the new user subscription stuff we are trialing right now.
Behind the scenes: your images now have automatic version protection (an accidental overwrite or delete is recoverable), and we upgraded core infrastructure for search and caching that future releases will build on.
