WILLIAM BUCHMILLER (editor) Corrections to my comments. I mis read the history. As I now understand, you say that Umpquah and Moskwa transitioned out of what was to become section 2a. That makes a little more sense due to their proximity to the west side Lodges - - except that at the '73 2a conclave, a scout from Moskwa Lodge, Steve Albin, was elected as section chief by the old members of 11c and as I said in my earlier comment, the rings around the Moskwa bear on the '74 2a conclave patch signified the unity of the old 11c member Lodges. It is possible that there was a whole lot of confusion and/or resistance in that transitional period about 2 months ago
WILLIAM BUCHMILLER (editor) I'm most certain, that unless the youth and adviser decided to revolt against the new section 2a change or a grace period was being observed, Section 2a was just a transition of the old 11c Lodges. You note that Umpquah and Moskwa joined section 2a; the other 11c Lodges did not. The '73 2a conclave patch has the Wawookia elk on it and was held at Camp Grizzly. I was there and all the old 11c Lodges were present. No west side Lodges were there in official capacity and a new section chief was elected by the 6 old 11c Lodges. I believe this is strong evidence that section 11c just transitioned to 2a. This was before the recent merry-go-round of Lodge mergers and section Lodge transitions in and out of what is now section G14 about 2 months ago
WILLIAM BUCHMILLER (editor) The 2a '74 conclave, with the Moskwa bear on the patch, was held at Camp Fife. All old "11c" Lodges were present. No west side Lodges were present in official capacity. The rings around the bear symbolized the former "11c" Lodges tied together in unity. about 2 months ago
