The first year the Raven patch was used appears to be 1957, this according to Council records pertaining to the patch. During 57 they offered the patch as an incentive for those who signed up early, kind of an "early bird", please see the Old Hickory Council Museum for proof. Another indication that the patch came along later was that staff members from 1955 and 1956 have said their was not a patch given, but rather a neckerchief bearing a thunderbird. Perhaps this information is wrong and the actual patch was issued in 1955, but few can remember getting a camp patch until around the 1957 season, when there was also issued a camp staff neckerchief bearing the patch.
