Elkhart Council 155 was organized in 1920 and changed its name to Elkhart Area Council 155 in 1927. In 1935, the name was changed to Pioneer Trails Council 155. In 1972, Pioneer Trails merged with Tri-Valley Council 165 and Pottawattomie Council 731 to form the Northern Indiana Council 165.
