Dr Seuss grew up in Springfield, MA, which is in our Council Area, He was a Boy Scout in the 1910s and may have made it to Eagle Scout. (He definitely made it to Star, which in those days was the rank just below Eagle). These images are used by permission.
The basketball is a reference to the fact that basketball was also born in Springfield, MA.
