| History | (none) | The Plane is a Gee Bee Racing plane, the Rifle is a Springfield Rifle, the sword and the rifle were both made at the Springfield Armory, the site for which was chosen by George Washington. The Basketball and hoop represent the fact that Basketball was invented in Springfield, MA, which is the largest city within the Council Area. The change in sword handles was not by design. The council reordered the S-3 and it just came with the different sword. Subsequent orders were always a surprize as to which sword would be present. Later issues also came with the BSA Stuff backing. |
