Issued in 1954, the “Blue Thunderbird” is Wyona’s second known issue. The Lodge briefly disbanded in the early 1950’s, and when it was reactivated in 1954, a similar design to the R1 was adopted. The color change was because they wanted people to know it was an eagle, not a thunderbird. The original plan was to go with red, white, and blue. Why yellow was chosen instead is unknown. The patch was issued until 1957.
