| History | (none) | In April 2012, Wyona Lodge was struck with tragedy when one of its most active and well known members, Lucas Paul Miller, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36. A former Lodge Chief and Section Chief, Lucas dedicated many years of service to Wyona Lodge, Columbia Montour Council, and especially Camp Lavigne. A member of the council board, Lucas was always fond of ceremonies, dance, and drum team activities. He continued his passion as a member of the Red Arrow Singers. He received the Vigil name, Gebtschaat, meaning “Clown”, indicative of his sense of humor. Lucas loved all things Scouting and his death left the community heartbroken. The Lodge issued this flap as a fundraiser to provide financial aid to Lucas’s wife and family. The flap features “Lucas Miller 1975” and “2012 Gebtschaat”, symbolic of the phrase “He came into this world in 1975 as Lucas Miller and left it in 2012 as Gebtschaat.” The flap also features a drum, with the Red Arrow Singers emblem on it. The water bird featured on the flap was personally important to Lucas. The red and blue added to its wings was to symbolize that Lucas was an Eagle Scout. The designers were Mike and Nancy Dennehy. They were sold at a price of $5 to members of Columbia-Montour Council and $7 to non-council members. |
