History

Issued in 1989, this flap was originally a mistake. Members going to the 1989 National Jamboree wanted flaps to take with them to trade. The Lodge was out and had to wait for new S8 flaps to come in. The mistake is that this run features a purple border, giving it the nickname, “The Purple Border.” Faced with the decision to either accept it or have no trading flaps, this flap became an official issue. They were heavily traded at the Jamboree, which can make them tough to find.
