| History | (none) | Andrew Stevens made approximately ten different hand-produced samples in the fall of 1994. He presented them to the LEC in spring of 1995 as possible 50th Anniversary Memorabilia designs. This included having the patch sewn on the Neckerchief. No patches or neckerchiefs were produced with any of the designs he created. This design listed as the YR1 was used as the design for a mug and a bolo. I have debated whether or not this should be listed as a Y. I am always hesitant to list any item as a prototype issue. Some of my thoughts: no patch was made based off this patch design, this was not a "manufacturer's sample", multiple of the patch were created, the design was approved for use by the lodge for other items [mug/bolo]. I finally settled on listing this item as the YR1, but I do believe this straddles the line with being a private issue. It should be noted that multiple of the patch were produced, unknown quantities of each Q [including unlisted variations] and this Y. |
