Ted, a huge WSU fan, was dared to produce a patch for the lodge that was purple and gold, the colors of UW. Particularly painful because this was shortly after UW and UO left the Pac-12, leaving its future in doubt. To lessen the blow, Ted made the event patch for Conclave (which was the weekend following induction) in the colors of WSU saying, "At least it will only be worn for a week."
