Patch originally surfaced on E-Bay in January of 2005. Listed by seller "CHIEF1939" based overseas. During the summer of 2005 a number of lodges saw a flood of crude Asian fakes of classic issues flood E-Bay. The seller used several different E-Bay seller IDs, with a new ID seemingly popping up once the E-Bay community members reported the fraud to E-Bay, successfully closing down sales under the reported ID. To our knowledge, at least two copies of this fake were sold on E-Bay. It remains unknown how many copies of this fake were made/issued.
