The Order of the Arrow 1966 Lodge listings published by the National Agency Directory had this listing for Hinode Goya Lodge - SSSSS. This told you that 5 solid embroidered flaps were known, but there were no descriptions of them. When "A History of the Order of the Arrow Through Insignia" (the Arapaho series) by Hoogeveen/Breithaupt/Leubitz came out in the late 1970's, it made a good effort to document issues of Lodges with descriptions and pictures. In the case of Hinode Goya Lodge, I believe they got it right. When the Blue Book series by Topkis/Morley came out, the order of Hinode Goya issues was changed with no explanation given. I believe they got it wrong. However, Blue Book listings became the standard in the hobby. I do not wish to cause confusion by renumbering flaps again, especially as an exact order of flaps cannot be determined. However, I firmly believe that the flaps WITHOUT number and lighter blue water came before the flaps WITH number and dark water. This follows the same pattern as the neckerchieves where it wasn't until the 4th Lodge n/c that the number appears. Take this from someone who was inducted into the Lodge and has been a passionate collector of Hinode Goya since 1969. Bob Cylkowski.
