Section History

Area 3-A was originally the eastern of the two original Areas in Region 3 (Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia) and met under the "Area E" name at least as early as 1945. In 1953, the Virginia lodges split off into Area 3-C. In 1954, the northeastern Pennsylvania lodges split off into Area 3-D and the central Pennsylvania lodges split off into Area 3-E.
