Area 4-E was initially West Virginia lodges, SE Ohio lodges (which left in 1955), and one KY lodge (which left in 1961). Beginning in 1964 it was eastern Ohio and northern WV lodges.

Area 4-E was formed in 1952 and held its first conclave in 1959. It was reorganized in 1964 and disbanded at the end of 1972.
