Section History

Effective January 1, 1973 BSA reduced the number of regions from 12 to 6. Pennsylvania became part of the new Northeast Region. Newly created Section NE-5B included Susquehannock XI (Keystone Area Council), Wyona 18 (Columbia-Montour Council), Winingus 30 (General Sullivan Council), Monaken 103 (Juniata Valley Council), Wapsu Achtu 343 (Susquehanna Valley Area Council), Tiadaghton 384 (West Branch Council) and Tuckahoe 386 (York-Adams Area Council). In 1975 the section was reduced from 7 to 6 lodges when Susquehanna Valley Area and West Branch Councils merged to form Susquehanna Council and Woapeu Sisilija Lodge 343.

In 1988, the Northeast Region realigned its six areas into seven areas (twelve sections, reduced from fifteen). The old sections held their final conclaves in 1988. Winingus 30, Woapeu Sisilija 343 and Wyona 18 went to NE-4A. Monaken 103 went to the new NE-5. Susquehannock XI and Tuckahoe 386 joined NE-6.
