History (none) On January 1, 1982, the BSA administrative areas in the Southeast Region were re-aligned. Instead of being numbered north-to-south (with SE-1 at the north) the new areas were numbered south-to-north (with SE-1 in Florida). As part of this re-assignment Area SE-1 was split into two areas, SE-8 (Virginia councils and lodges) and SE-9 (Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC, plus the National Capital Area Council portion of Virginia and small portions of West Virginia (Potomac Council) and Pennsylvania (Mason-Dixon Council). The 1982 Conclave was planned under the SE-1 name and all memorabilia uses that designation, but it was technically a joint SE-8/SE-9 event. Note that the Florida Section SE-1 also used that name for its 1982 Conclave.
