Section History

Section SE-9 was very short-lived. On January 1, 1982, the Southeast Region re-organized and the existing Section SE-1 was split into SE-8 (Virginia councils and lodges) and SE-9 (Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC, plus the National Capital Area Council portion of Virginia and small portions of West Virginia (Potomac Council) and Pennsylvania (Mason-Dixon Council). Then, on May 22, 1982, the councils and lodges of SE-9 were moved from the Southeast Region to the Northeast Region and became Area NE-6. The 1982 Conclave was planned under the SE-1 name and all memorabilia uses that designation, but it was technically a joint SE-8/SE-9 event; the 1982 Indian Seminar event was planned as a joint SE-8/SE-9 event, and the patch uses that designation, but it was technically a joint SE-8/NE-6 event.
